A moment of tension?
I hope you'll post the rest of it, the light looks so perfect...

I watched some of this being created.
It seemed quite a chore.
The flowers kept withering and the bull wouldn't hold still (and it shat all over the place).

I've never seen a bull so close. Beautiful.

Detail of a larger illustration? Awww, come on Limbolo, you are teasing us... So, when do we get the full picture, please....Pretty please.

Wow! Powerful.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen,
My thanks for your interest.

Ushuaia,
I don't mean to tease. I just want to show the bull in this cropped composition to emphasises his close entrapment.

Elliot,
It's a labour of love and no chore. See me on a rat'n mouse movie...Now that's a chore for you!
By the way what happened to you Friday night? You just dash off and leave the taps running.

Unbelievable picture, Limbo!!...
You´d love to be here in Rosario!!!..Last nite it was Ruben´s birthday and after a big band concert at the exhibition hall we ended up in a jam session at his place with him on alto and two Irish geniuses (The Buckley Cousins) in tenor and guitar playing at full steam ...Wonderful. Beautiful young Miss Gonzalez sang a wondrous "Blue Monk"..A nite to remember.

Marcos, Matt,

Thank you very much Limbolo !!!
It was a very happy birthday with very good friends, good vibes, chat & music.

About the superb Taurus: you play all the keys... you are dodecaphonic.

Beautiful piece . I like the close in and personal comp . The feeling that he might rip apart the frame of the piece and rant about the place ripping everything with his horns is great . Beautiful texture also . Cheers .

All this business with me doing a days work is leaving me rather weary!
I'm heading to Scotland this weekend but am interested in a big one some time next week.

Shelly, Ruben, Sim, Elliot, Alina, Marcello,
thanks.

David,
This began as a model/sculpt of the bull's head. Then I took a photograph of the head, dropped it into photoshop and painted the rest of the picture around it. I've never done this before and wanted to see how it would come out.
I normally make up a lot of brushes in photoshop. Some of these are based on acrylic washes, scanned and sampled. Some are made by random mark-making: I believe that whatever medium you use will speak for you if you allow it to speak for itself. It's probably a good idea to throw all the brushes away and start again with new ones, although I do hang on to one or two favourites..One day I'll throw them away too... your favourite pair of jeans wont last forever.

The bull models are still up on bricks. I hope to have them ready for an exhibition at the Waterloo Gallery in London in April. Michael Schlingmann and Alberto Mielgo - and others - will be taking part. We'll put out more information as we get closer to the deadline.
